Volunteer Spotlight: George Daniello

From the moment George Daniello, 35, walked into Southampton Fire Company, he felt right at home.

“I could see this organization is made up of a group of people who really do care about their community,” said George, volunteer firefighter. “If you have ever thought about joining, even briefly, I highly recommend trying it. All it takes is that first step. The feeling of being in the firehouse, words can’t quite describe it.”

While George has volunteered with Southampton for one year, he has 10+ years of fire service experience in Bucks County. He and his wife purchased a home near Station 2 and he wanted to continue being involved in the community through the fire service.

“My favorite part is the connection with the community, helping people when and where it’s needed,” said George, who also assists with equipment maintenance and the Membership Retention Committee.

A plumber by trade, George works full-time serving the Tri-County area for any residential plumbing needs.

“The fire service has helped me personally and professionally. I’ve grown to be the person I want to be with the help of it,” said George. “It’s helped give me a sense of belonging to be a part of something to be proud of.”

Overall, the fire service has been a great experience for George and he plans to stay active for as long as he can.
